Release Radar Playlist

Release Radar Playlist

One of the many reasons why I’m a die hard Spotify fan is because it puts together new music for you based on your specific tastes. Using some magical algorithms that are beyond my personal understanding, there’s a playlist you can access on your account called “Release Radar“. This personalized list is based on the artists and genres you already follow, often including new or newish songs that adhere to your taste, and changes every few weeks. The amazing thing is that “Release Radar” often also includes artists that I don’t know, exposing me to different talents every time. Essentially, the more songs you save and more artists you follow, the more eclectic this playlist becomes. However, I’ve found more often than not that Spotify does an exceedingly good job at making this list cohesive, no matter how different each song is from the other.

Spotify allows me to explore new music, artists and genres without me having to invest countless hours to do so. Today, I’m sharing a list of 30 songs that have popped up on my “Release Radar” in the last few weeks, and I can honestly say that I’ve fallen in love with all of them. With springtime just around the corner and the days getting longer, I feel reinvigorated to spend my time outdoors and discover some new tunes while basking in the sunlight. Ranging from songs by Toronto artists like Sickick and DijahSB, to indie favourites like Young the Giant and MARINA, to newcomers like Billie Eilish and Link Lauren, activist icons like Lizzo, or musical giants like Mark Ronson and Sia, this list has a little bit of everything. Take a listen to the playlist below, and let us know what some of your favourite release radar songs are.
