Top Favourites 2019: Movies

How does one even begin to sift through the numerous releases from 2019? Indeed this past year has been such a big one for movies! With the long-awaited final instalments of both the Star Wars and Avengers franchises, the release of two Disney live-action remakes and a slew of incredible dramas and comedies it makes it difficult to pick just a few. But I’ve managed to identify six that stick in my mind from the past year. ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ Season Review

When the trailer for Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019) was released, I must admit that I had no idea what it was. All the HBO shows I’ve never had a chance to watch on any other platform, and many other prestige shows (from networks like Hulu, Showtime, and FX) were on here, and suddenly, Netflix paled in comparison.…

May is Mental Health Awareness month. This month, we’re actively pushing ourselves to branch out and check out new media, be it books, shows, music, podcasts or film, that centre around mental health awareness and the destigmatization of mental illness. Today’s post is a bit of a First Impressions post: I’m highlighting five podcasts that I’ve only heard an episode or two from, that I’m looking forward to completing. These are podcasts that actively centre on mental health and illness as its subject matter, and do so in vastly different ways. Most importantly, these podcasts emphasize an importance on recognizing…
